Programme Structure
This five-week programme progresses through core parent-child relationship aspects. Each week builds upon the last, moving from foundational connection skills to long-term relationship development, combining theoretical understanding with practical implementation.
Week 1: Can You See Me? – The Foundation of Connection
Objective: Shifting focus from correcting behaviour to recognizing and valuing the child’s unique individuality.
Core Learning: Parental efforts to provide the best can sometimes result in the child feeling overlooked. Being seen is a fundamental human need essential for effective teaching.
Week 2: Can You Hear Me? – Beyond Rewards and Punishment
Objective: Evaluating conventional behaviour management approaches and developing communication methods that encourage intrinsic motivation and self-confidence.
Core Learning: Many behavioural challenges stem from the child’s attempts to learn and follow instructions. Punishing mistakes instills fear rather than understanding. Developing genuine listening creates feelings of being heard.
Week 3: Can You Tell Me? – Building Trust Through Inclusion
Objective: Learning methods to include children in family systems, creating feelings of trust, capability, and belonging.
Core Learning: Children naturally want to contribute and help. Shielding them from all adult matters can generate feelings of isolation. Strategic sharing builds trust and understanding.
Week 4: Will You Teach Me? – Embracing Your Role as the Primary Guide
Objective: Confidently assuming the role of the child’s primary life teacher beyond academic supervision.
Core Learning: While schools provide formal education, parents primarily shape values, character, and emotional intelligence through guidance rather than pressure.
Week 5: Will You Grow With Me? – Evolving the Relationship for Life
Objective: Gaining long-term perspective on the parent-child relationship and adapting connections as children mature into adulthood.
Core Learning: Healthy parent-child relationships evolve dynamically from caretaking to mentorship and eventually mutual adult relationships, requiring conscious adaptation.
